Functional Testing

Of utmost importance, this is when the actual testing is executed. This type of test literally tests individual functions and is heavily based on the specified requirements documentation, which describes “how” things need to work together. Functionality of the system is done by providing input, verifying output, and comparing actual versus expected results. Some major attributes are testing baseline functions, usability, accessibility, and errors. The lion’s share of testing and resources is focused on functional testing.
